The district of La Latina is a cosy area extremely near to Sol, also named “Madrid de los Austria” (Madrid of the Habsburgs – a name used for the old centre of Madrid ). It is the most historic zone and one of the more typical of Madrid, one of which presents the most beautiful urban landscapes and characteristics with small alley ways as well as all sorts of antique buildings.

This area is also rich in bars and restaurants, and is livened up by a multitude of people 7 days a week, catering for all ranges of ages and preferences.

In addition in this unique neighbourhood you will come across the traces of what was the birth of the city. Next to the “Plaza Mayor” (Main Square), a 10 minute walk from the Teatro Real (Theatre), Palacio Real (Palace), La Catedral de la Almudena (The Almudena Cathedral) and with a few minutes more you will arrive at the “Paseo del Arte” and be able to tour three of the most significant and renowned museums of Madrid; Museo del Prado, Museo Thyssen Bornemisza and the modern art centre Reina Sofia. You will also find on your doorstep the prominent Sunday market “El Rastro” where you can find everything you could possibly imagine.
