Plaza de Tirso de Molina is situated between Distrito Centro and the Lavapiés area of the Spanish capital. Due to being right in the centre of Madrid it has very easy access using public transport: metro (Tirso de Molina, line 1) or bus and just 3 stops from Atocha train station. Plaza de Tirso Molina is dedicated to Madrid’s playwright of the same name. Recently restructured and almost entirely pedestrianised, it has become a fairly original flower market, made up of 8 designer metal and wooden cubes in which all types of plants and flowers are sold every day of the week. It also has lots of supermarkets, a park for children and a newspaper stand. Due to being so central it is possible to get to Puerta del Sol in less than ten minutes walking and also to the Latino Area or Plaza de Lavapiés. Calle Carretas, where there are many clothes and shoe shops, is less than five minutes walking. Madrid’s most important museums (Prado, Reina Sofía, Thyssen…) are also located very near the hostel which you can visit walking.
